History

East End Presbyterian Church was founded on June 30, 1879 under the name of the First Presbyterian Church of Kendall in the Presbytery of Genesee Valley. The Reverend C. F. Goss was the first minister.

Our congregation is a mixture of old and new. Some of our current members attended East End as children and teenagers. During the 1940's and 1950's East End was filled to capacity, and some Sunday's the church had standing room only.

The church building has remained fairly constant with one interesting development. A few of our members still remember the "raising of the church" when the building was literally lifted up in order to create a basement.

Our church basement suffered serious damage in the flood in the summer of 1999. Not only was the damage repaired, but the basement was remodelled by members in 2005.

Our building is now a beautiful place to worship, and the basement is a truly enjoyable place for church potlucks and other activities. In the summer of 2006 and 2007, the basement was used as the home for a summer daycamp for neighborhood children as part of the Penn-State Extension Summer Park Program organized by then Penn-State Extension program assistant, Rev. Dorothy Densmore.

Today’s East End Presbyterian Church (EEPC) is a part of the Lake Erie Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church USA.
